How many seasons are in the new Battlestar Gallatica, Dr Who & Farscape series?

Several days ago I asked about good sci-fi film series for a sci-fi buff (I don't know anything about sci fi) but seem to be having trouble figuring out how many series are in each of the above. I'd like to purchase the complete set for each if possible. Thanks in advance for responding

Bugsy is mostly right. There's also an "old" Doctor Who series that ran from 1963 to 1989. But they are an acquired taste, because they start out in black and white and, according to some, are very campy.

I would not recommend the older Dr. Who 1. unless you are up for that sort of thing and 2. Until you are fully indoctrinated into the ways of Science Fiction.

In reference to the "old" Doctor Who versus the new one - they are one and the same. They storyline is one continuous tale, which involves the main character of The Doctor regenerating at least 9 times (he is on his 10th). So the correct answer is 31 seasons of Doctor Who over a period of 45 years (as of November 23, 2008).

Doctor Who: This does come down to whether you mean in total since the beginning in 1963 or just from the new series that started with Chris Eccleston in 2005.

If you mean since 2005 there has been 4 series. (Two with Billie Piper (Rose), One with Freema Agyeman (Martha) and one with Catherine Tate (Donna)).

If you mean overall there is 30 series (26 original format, 4 in the new format). This excludes the feature length movies done.

There have been 10 Doctors in total (so far!). These have been played by William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, Paul McGann, Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant

Farscape: This is a little easier! There were four seasons/series.

Battlestar Galactica: Also just has 4 so far.

Farscape Episodes has 4 seasons
Doctor who and Battle star galactica also has 4 seasons.
