Hurley *IS* the smoke monster. (he made a time machine out of his Camaro, a VW Micro Bus and some empty pringles cans. it flew him through time and space back to the island before even the black rock wrecked there. side effect of the time travel turned him into the smoke creature. he's happy as he gets first crack at most of the food pallet drops.)
