American TV series with Jake as main character?

My wife says she saw a TV show about a young geek named Jake but she doesn't know the name of it. Any ideas?

This is an older 2003 UPN sitcom but it sounds like your description. (geeky lead character named Jake)
Jake 2.0
Looks like the sci-fi channel pickd the series up, so it could still be in broadcast
