Well clearly they've managed to spoil the 2012 movie by showing that the end of the world isn't going to be as final as we were led to believe. Someone's got to be left in order for us to have something to watch (although I'd love someone to be brave enough to schedule 22 X 1 hour episodes of a blank screen)
I'm guessing that we're going to essentially have a retread of survivors, Jeremiah or Jericho
where we have the diverse group of survivors rebuilding society.. before coming under threat from the mysterious others that have also survived.
(and as soon as it gets to the first lost style flashback I'm switching off)

So, our "sister" company aside, this is a true conundrum. If the Mayans are right, the movie will never see the light of day, nor the cast their red carpet, nor television exist at all in fairly short order. If the Mayans are wrong, and 2012 goes off without a hitch, what is the need for a senseless TV series? They're going to look bad enough as it is!
I SO remember NYE 1999, as we all panicked and waited for the Information Age's version of Armageddon. Didn't happen. Guess binary fooled us all.
I suppose that's it. Hope someone catches the irony in a really big bucket.

Yes. It may not be a very good thought, but it is mine. If the Mayans were such artisans in the craft of the creation of calendars, why was it necessary to stop at 2012? My ongoing outcry is, "Couldn't they just have started a new one??" So, our "sister" company aside, this is a true conundrum.
