He can still file a claim for discrimination, if he can prove that he was demoted because of his sexual orientation. However, I'm not sure he can for the firing if the company had a policy for no toleration towards such legal persuits. Unless he wasn't told the companies policies before employment and didn't sign any agreement of that policy. Like Walmart and their no Union rule. Do I think it was wrong? Of course I do!!

OPEN THREAD: News anchor Charles Perez fired after discrimination claims
Charles Perez recently filed a discrimination claim against WPLG-ABC 10 in Miami under claims he was demoted because of his sexual preference. Just days later, he was fired. The station says his complaint left them no choice but to terminate his employment.
Questions: Is this right or wrong? Can a company legally fire someone for making claims, regardless if the claims have any merit? What legal options does he have now?
