Truly, in the end, does efficiency, sustainability, and abundance help a company generate profit?

I don't believe that efficiency or sustainability help a business at all. If it did then there wouldn't be a multi-million dollar a year service industry for automobiles, nor would the average life span for most electronics be less than three months before they are obsolete with new technology. I don't think abundance helps either, Abundance, as based on the laws of supply and demand, is actually a negative thing. If a diamond company finds 10 times the usual amount of diamonds during their mining, it means the supply of diamonds has increased, which means the cost and profit per diamond, drops. It might sound silly but scarcity is actually the key role in a profit-based structure. "What is scarcity? Based on keeping products valuable. Slowing up production on oil raises the price. Maintaining scarcity of diamonds, keeps the price high. It means that sustainability and abundance will never ever occur in a profit system, for it simply goes against the very nature of the structure. Therefore, it is impossible to have a world without war or poverty, it is impossible to continually advance technology to its most efficient and productive states … and most dramatically, it is impossible to expect human beings to be behave in truly ethical or decent ways. Thoughts?

Here is an interesting article for you to ponder along with your own theories. It takes an opposite approach, but I think you'll benefit from it.

I'm not endorsing the Wal-mart empire or anything. Just thought you might like the adverse article. :)

Well, in this regard you cannot have everyone working for Wal-Mart. Did you know that financially, Wal-Mart has more value than Poland (The country) and Saudi Arabia (The Country)?

But hear me. We all have dreams.. Who wants to dream of working at Wal-Mart? Not that many people. Also, in this kind of system, if Wal-Mart ever wants to lower it's quality standards it can, and nobody could say anything about it because of it's monopoly. The article says "Pushes the inflation rates down".. That is only an illusion. Inflation is always imminent. The effects of inflation are rising prices, and Wal-Mart has low prices, why? Well, the Gov. loves "printing" out money (creating it out of thin air)... As opposed to a tax (Where we know not everyone pays), Inflation resulting from that printed money gets equally spread out among us all.. We all have to pay a little more for everything because there are new bills in circulation.. It's complicated, but once you see what mask the monetary policy instills you can truly see that this kind of system in the end, is a negative approach in the human evolution. Thanks for your comment!

You confuse efficiency of long term market with efficiency of the micro economic area, ie the individual business. While electronics market wise is efficient due to goigng away from vertical integration the auto industry is not efficient for that very reason of not shying away from vertical integration.
