Would you pay someone to realize your dream for you if you were unable to realize it yourself for whatever reason?

Given that people are so busy these days, I'm wondering if anyone would pay to realize their own dream(s) through someone else. For example, if you have always wanted to visit Egypt but have been unable to do so, would you enjoy the experience of "visitng Egypt through someone else?" We all have dreams. Some of them are are able to realize ourselves. For the dreams that are too big/time consuming/expensive to realize on our own, I wonder if people would be intrigued by the idea of experiencing their dreams through someone else. Are there any sites you know of that facilitate this? Any ideas/thoughts on this concept?

Doing this would be giving away your dream to someone else, now wouldn't it? Not saying this is crazy to do, but people do it. I think people do this a lot, though. It happens in business dealings. Someone has a dream or a great concept, or idea, yet they cannot fund it completely themselves, so they give up a percentage of their company to someone who sees their dream and is financially able to capitalize on this dream to make it happen. This person who invests in the dream idea is known as a venture capitalist, yet the person who followed through with the dream is still the entrepreneur, the venture capitalist owns part of the entrepreneur's dream. Some people who have humanitarian dreams do not care if they accomplished the dream themselves, just as long as the dream is accomplished. I believe that a lot of people want the dream to start with themselves first, though.

Hence the part of the question that says the person is unable to fulfill the dream themselves for whatever reason. I guess I should have expanded a bit. Given all of the tools on the Internet, I could envision a way for people that are running around the world doing cool stuff to enable other people to have the experience with them. Maybe this happens through blog posts, pics, videos, or even direct interaction with the person that is in the midst of doing something you hope to do someday. My experience is that people love to talk about and share things they have done in the past. The biggest problem is that it is hard to find people that really care. Anytime I return from a long trip and someone asks "how was it?" The answer "it was amazing" is enough for people that really don't care and are just being nice by asking. for people that really are interested or care, they'd want to ask much deeper questions or even have a conversation. I wonder if there is a way to enable this. Just an interesting concept.

It's interesting, like living vicariously through someone else talking about their experience.

People have there own dreams. If you were going to give away your dream I would hope it would be to someone who has the same dream/passion as you do. The same heart so you can then sit down over coffee and get the 'cliff notes' version of it.

Now if you couldn't live out your own dreams for whatever reason and don't want someone to go through the same 'dreams unrealized' feelings then maybe you would like to fund someone else's dream for them. So it would be kinda cool to set up a type of "make a wish" group for just anyone.

As far as a site that facilitates this I can only think of the "Make A Wish Foundation" at http://www.wish.org/. But as most of us now there are some very specific criteria to be met. :)

Most of my big dreams are experiences I want to have, so having someone else just plain do it in my place would be bittersweet at best embittering at worst.
However, I do genuinely love learning about other people's experiences, especially ones I would have liked to do myself.
It could never truly make up for doing it myself though, there are too many details and sensory experiences they couldn't possibly help leaving out.

I believe that if you have a dream and passion for something you also have the resources and talent to see it through. It is more the level of commitment a person has to persevere to see their dreams come to fruition. Never give up on your dreams, the length of time and amount of money mean nothing. If you have a dream and a passion about something and you give it away or sell it to someone else thinking your dream will happen is not exactly that easy. If you give it away or sell it, your dream then becomes interpreted through the person who becomes the new "owner" of what was first yours. It will never be the same, a trip to Egypt by another person trying to capture what is a dream trip to you will ultimately fail as I believe you will be left with the same wonder of , "It was amazing to hear what it was like, it must be great to see it". The best way to experience your dreams is to do just that, experience them yourself.
