The best Cheesesteaks are at Steve's prince of steaks. They have 2 northeast locations and 1 in Langhorne. These are the BEST.
Pat's and Geno's are tourist traps and there steaks are OK.
Most random pizza shops will have top notch cheesesteak.
While in center city, go to the Reading Terminal Market all sorts of foods including a couple of cheesesteak places.
Jim's Steaks are also OK.
But if you must pick Pat's or Geno's..........Get Geno's!!!!!!
PS. only order with or without onions AND the only cheeses you should order is american/whiz/provolone
enjoy

It's not a fancy gourmet cheesesteak place (which I find just too pretentious) - it's just good hot-off-the-grill giant cheesesteak goodness. Get the cheesefries too. And be sure to order it "WITH"...meaning with Cheez Wiz. Yummmm!
Aw, now I'm craving Sonny's cheesesteaks some more. We even bought one of their t-shirts we liked it so much!

I just made my first visit to Philly a few months back, and I fell in love with this little hole-in-the-wall place in the Historical District called "Sonny's". It's not a fancy gourmet cheesesteak place (which I find just too pretentious) - it's just good hot-off-the-grill giant cheesesteak goodness. Get the cheesefries too. And be sure to order it "WITH"...meaning with Cheez Wiz. Yummmm!
