My favorite restaurant in Whistler is breakfast at the Roundhouse Lodge. It's a large buffet but best of all, when the patrol clears the hill you get to be first on the hill.

For Dinner:
Umberto's
Romantic place. Great views. High prices.
Tandoori Grill
Great authentic Indian.
Zen
Really good japanese
Rim Rock
Order "whatever the chef is cooking". You won't be disappointed.
Longhorn
This place is located right at the base of Blackcomb. They have a strong apre ski scene and good walk-in deals on app's and beer.
If you're looking for something unique or something "cheap and good", talk to a local. All you have to do is walk behind any restaurant and talk to whoever is there having a smoke. Offer $5 (the cost of a beer) and you'll receive a very good recommendation of what's good that night. Remember that staff in Whislter is transient and this includes Chef's.

When I travel, I keep notes in my blackberry of good places to go back to. I've traveled a fair bit throughout North America and Western Europe and have built a solid list of places that I've been and want to go back to.
