Off to Abu Dhabi for the weekend. Any recommendations of things to do, places to go?

Stay indoors. :-)
Since your weekend is the middle of week for them you'll have to worry about traffic. Most of the tourist (decadence) is in Dubai such as the indoor ski slope. There is much planned for AD but not sure if open (F1 track, Guggenheim, etc.).

The outdoor activities are very nice (in the winter).
