There's the North Carolina Museum of Art - mostly privately funded so it could be a little different.
Or try the Historic Hillsborough village - about 20min East of city - over 100 building from colonial times and they give lectures while you're there
Or the Chatham Hill Winery - free samples !!
I've included a few links just in case you aren't interested in these ideas
Hey, visit the chapels and churches, lovely historic sites :)

I used to stay about a hr from Raleigh and spend a lot of time in Raleigh since I worked there so I hope I can help you out a little !!
For one I would suggest the Crabtree Valley Mall which has over 220 Stores in Raleigh - do some shopping and have some food - its relaxing and can be fun as well - you also knock out 2 in one since you can have a meal without having to rush from one place to the next !
If you have kids with you try out the Marbles Kids Museum - $5 to get in and your kids can run around and let their imagination go wild - it's on 201 E. Hargett St.
If you are alone you can go visit the Cary Heritage Museum its located on 119 Ambassador Loop - Cary and is located on the 3rd floor of the Page-Walker Arts & History Center.
Always have the traffic in mind cause once you run late and hit the Rush hr you might as well book a Hotel cause this can take a while to get out of Raleigh !!!
No matter what you will end up doing have fun and enjoy your stay !!

There are plenty of museums in Raleigh - the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, for one, and the North Carolina Museum of History, both of which are close to each other and well worth a visit.

Downtown Durham is really nice, as is downtown Carrboro. If you haven't been to Carrboro, it too is well worth a stop -- there are a lot of nice stores and such to visit, and you can stop by Weaver Street Market or someplace else nearby for lunch. It's a nice little town.

If you're looking for something more outdoorsy, Eno River State Park is nearby and it's absolutely gorgeous.

I have 5 extra hours to see tourist attractions in Raleigh Durham, North Carolina. What should I do?
I've already been to Duke and UNC Chapel Hill, what else would you not miss here? Anything like museums, tourism, or anything really neat to take a picture of, or just see.

The Art Museum was closed when I got there due to renovation, and Historic Hillsborough was very nice.
