This is a list of important places and things that are wonders today and are still around right now. They became wonders when world travelers going around the world discovered them and thought they were really special. They include the list below.
1. Mount Everest in Nepal
Mount Everest is one of the tallest mountains in the world. It is part of the Himalayan Mountains. They were formed in the last few million years. After the supercontinent of Laurasia broke up millions of years ago, India moved slowly north towards Asia and then crashed into it.

2. Victoria Falls in Zambia/Zimbabwe
One of the greatest waterfalls in the whole world lies on the Zimbezi River, which forms the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Some people think it is one of the most beautiful sights in the world! Upstream, the river flows through a wide valley.

The Grand Canyon is located in the northwest part of Arizona.The Grand Canyon was made by the cut of running water. The Colorado River flows through the canyon. Some people think the Colorado River was there to start with and that over the years it cut through the rock, and now it is still there.

4. Great Barrier Reef in Australia
The Great Barrier Reef is actually a series of smaller reefs. Reefs form under water and can be made of coral, sand, or rock.The Great Barrier Reef is the largest reef of all, stretching an amazing 1,250 miles, or 2,000 kilometers, across the blue of the ocean.

7. Harbor of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
is the second largest city of Brazil and South America, and the second largest metropolitan area in South America; in both cases behind São Paulo. It is the state capital of Rio de Janeiro. The city was the capital of Brazil for nearly two centuries, from 1763 to 1822 during the Portuguese colonial era, and from 1822 to 1960 as an independent nation. It is also the former capital of the Portuguese Empire (1808–1821). Commonly known as just Rio, the city is also nicknamed A Cidade Maravilhosa, or "The Marvelous City".

Yellowstone National Park Hot Springs
These are mind-blowing! Seemingly endless blue pools, steam rising in the air, sometimes with small fountains. The ones that smell like sulfur are really incredibly bad!

I grew up in Southern Ontario and truly believe Niagara Falls deserves to be on this list, it is absolutely a stunning piece of nature. Check it out in the Winter or Summer, both times you get a truly different experience

I have ash from Mt. St. Helens when it erupted way back when. My dad was living in a trailer park that was completely covered in ash. The fireman had to come in and rescue everyone!
