My ideal vacation would be to the Smokey Mountains. I went to Gatlinburg in Tennessee a year ago with my boyfriend's family and I honestly thought it was going to be the most boring thing ever. I was wrong! The house we rented was gorgeous, the views were outstanding, and the activities there were countless!
It was probably the most relaxing vacation I've ever been on, too. Being up on the mountain like that was so peaceful and the nature around us was beautiful. The air was so clean and crisp. I wish I was there right now just writing about it.
In town, there's Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede (which may sound dumb, but it was awesome. It was just like going to Medieval Times.), the Gatlinburg Aquarium, numerous shops... which have great fudge and other things, Gatlinburg Space Needle and Family Fun Center, The Smokey Mountain Winery. There's also a lot of site seeing that you may find in brochures that are great places to just get away, sit, stare, and eat. =]
These pictures were from my trip:

The water coming from that waterfall is so clean, you can just fill your water bottle and gulp it down.
These pictures weren't from my trip, but the cabin pictures look just like the place we stayed in:
