If the liquid is non-flammible (so water, shower gel), you can have up to 3 ounces in your carry-on luggage.

If the liquid is more than 3 ounces, you can't carry it on the plane but you can check it in your baggage.

If the liquid is flammable, you can't have it on the plane, period.

3oz, and all liquids need to fit in a quart size resealable bag..
