There's a new hotel - "Ramada Encore" - in Chatham - which, if you're not familiar with the area - is very close by (Rochester and Chatham stations are about 2 mins apart).
I have not stayed there so I don't know how good it actually is, but I would seriously consider if I found I needed to stay in the area - there aren't many other hotels.

To me it looks in the same sort of range as a Premier Inn (the nearest Premier Inn is Gillingham and the nearest Travelodge is by the M2.) - but they also have a laundry service and pay TV. It says there is broadband but typically you have to pay for this (wi-fi is free in the bar area, apparently.) The Ramada is right by the Historic Dockyard which may be nice.
