The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, Colorado, is reputed to be haunted. It a lovely old grand hotel not far from Rocky Mountain National Park and was a filming location for The Shining with Jack Nicholson.

Unlike the ghosts in Stephen King novels, the ghosts at the Stanley are harmless - they simply seem to want to stay in their little slice of heaven on earth.

I joke to keep from being scared. A close friend of mine once heard a child crying outside her window at an old Victorian bed and breakfast in Canada. Only there was no child. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it.
Okay now, this is creepy:

A ghost is said to inhabit the Stone Lion Inn in Guthrie Oklahoma. Apparently, a family out grew their home and moved next door into a mansion. One of the children died after contracting whooping cough. Augusta, mysteriously died of a over dose of cough syrup heavily laced with opium and codeine. I reluctantly stayed there one night with my husband I was awake all night terrified but I didn't see or hear anything. :)

I have not ever stayed in a hotel that I thought was haunted. I think I would be too chicken to stay in one. Not sure I could sleep or even turn off the lights if I felt or knew it was haunted. But I did fine this cool website if your looking for one to stay in. Its the top 10 haunted hotels in the US. http://www.hauntedamericatours.com/toptenhaunted/toptenhauntedhotels/

The Crescent Hotel in Arkansas is reported to be haunted. I took a ghost tour there, expecting it to be hokey or some lightly spooky affair, and it was beyond terrifying. You couldn't pay me to go back. I don't think I've ever felt that a place was more eerie than that hotel. I was an absolute wreck by the time the tour got down to the old morgue in the basement and I thought I was going to pass out or vomit from the creep factor. The kicker was that we had some very unusual double imagery show up in the photos we took. Beyond anyone's opinions of whether or not the Crescent is haunted, the place has some sad and tragic history with hundreds and hundreds of deaths that have occurred within those walls. The location was featured on an episode of Ghost Hunters a few years ago and they found ALL KINDS of weird action, including that they believed was a full body apparition. If you want to check out a haunted hotel, definitely go there. As for me? I'll stick with ghost-free. http://www.crescent-hotel.com/ghosts/index.html

The hotel itself is awesome and the rooms have some incredible views
Great restaurant too
I highly recommend the Steak au poivre et pommes frites with the roasted pumpkin bisque.
Fantastic wine list too :)
Prices are reasonable for what you get imo.
A friend was married there, using the grand staircase and lobby for her bridal march and for photos. It is still a grand hotel and a place where I would very much like to stay, now - I miss Colorado terribly.
