The Los Angeles zoo only currently has California sea lions at this time. Worth checking back though, new animals are added all the time!

The Stellar Sea Lion is named after Georg Wilhem Steller, a German born naturalist. Other animals named after him include a sea eagle, a jay, an eider (a type of duck) and a sea cow (a relative of the manatee)

Unfortunately, Stellar Sea Lions (Eumetopias jubatus) the western population is protected as "endangered" while the eastern population is protected as "threatened" under the Endangered Species Act. While the Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Garden and the Aquarium of the Pacific feature California Sea Lions (Zalophus californianus), they do not currently have Stellar Sea Lions. The Stellar Sea Lion is named after Georg Wilhem Steller, a German born naturalist. Other animals named after him include a sea eagle, a jay, an eider (a type of duck) and a sea cow (a relative of the manatee)
