Having lived in SF for years, we often flew to Hawaii for a quick break. Our favorite island is still Kauai. We also travelled to Cabo San Lucas in Mexico for warm and sunny relief. Both are lovely, sunny and relatively quick getaways. Also recommend Greece or southern Italy, but those destinations require more time and you'll want to have awhile to play, once you arrive.
PS: Cabo IS awesome.

Thanks! Isn't STA travel for students only? I remember them from my student days in the UK. Can non students book also?
Go to southwest.com, check $49 flights that they have available to sunny areas in the south. They usually have a SF to DAL. You may not want to vacation in Dallas but its cheap and you can find something fun to do there.
Try Lastminute.com it will certainly help you with this kind of travel.
