Totally going to play Animal Crossing Wild World on my DS when I get home. Does anyone else have it? Do you have tips?

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The biggest tip is to find friends online or locally, since that's the quick way to collect "foreign fruit."
Your town only grows one kind of fruit at first, but foreign fruit fetches 5x price from Nook. So visit other towns and collect as much fruit as possible. Plant a bunch of new trees (dig a hole, throw fruit in, then bury), water them every day and replace the ones that whither with your foreign fruit on hand. The result is a money generation machine that will get you more of the stuff you want more quickly.
There are lots of hidden gems in this game. (Like Kneeling with nothing in you hand when a shooting star comes by to make a wish, or showing up at the cafe on Saturdays after 8 to hear and collect new songs.) I'd suggest you read the GameFAQs walkthrough on this one for tips, but really the key beauty of the game is trying new things and allowing yourself to be surprised.
