Torrents download slow after a day or two. Why?

I usually have about 25-50 torrents downloading at once, and in the beggining the most active ones download at speeds between 250-350 kB/s (about 350 max speed), but after a couple days they all slow down, and dont go above 25kB/s. I have tried port forwarding, but havent been able to figure that out so I usually leave that as is. I have Windows Se7en, and I use BitTorrent 6.3. Any help would be great.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

It's the seeders. The more seeders (and other leechers), than the faster you will get your stuff. Less seeders and leechers mean you'll possibly be downloading for a long time (also depends on the size of the file(s)).

A good thing to remember also is to seed yourself when the download is done. You should also make sure your port(s) that you have BT connected to are open, on your download client and your firewall as well.

The main reason my torrents normally slow is the seeds. How fast a torrent goes all depends on how many seeds it's connected to and what upload speed those seeders are allowing. It's possible in the beginning your just getting lucky. ALSO.. I don't use bittorrent anymore but back in the day I know share ratio affected your upload speed. It's possible you are downloading wayyy more than your uploading.. so bittorrent is seeing you as a leech and not allowing you higher upload speeds anymore.

Try seeding alone for a day and see if that helps.

I have noticed this happens to me too, I think it might be because the seeding goes lower. Not all torrents downloads slow only some. Hope this helped

If its a popular or interesting torrent it gets faster as more seeders join in after downloading on the other hand if unpopular then .....
