I like the TomTom because you can modify it and there's a great user community. http://www.tomtomforums.com/

M$I have already bought one. I'm not checking to see if I bought the right one I would like to get a feel for other people's impressions of the other brands as there may be features that I missed. I tend to recommend various Consumer Electronic devices for friends and family so I like to have as much info as possible to provide as unbiased a recommendation as possible

M$As a tech person I don't mind a little trial and error or experimentation with different options, but I am hesitant to recommend them to people I know.

The user community and the ability to download updated maps (at no additional charge) and offer changes to maps (MapShare) was a key selling point for me.
