August 15: What is one significant news that happened today, in 2009, or in History?

All year I've been building the timelines for all the Mahalo Date pages, now I have come full circle and I am looking to add more events. Today I will accept a news story from today or from history.

Couple rules:
1. It can be any type of story: world news > politics > sports > entertainment
2. It can't be a story I already have on the August 15 timeline page.
3. Please only post 1 story.

Earliest dated book, "Mainz Psalter," completed. The Mainz Psalter is the earliest dated example of printed matter issuing from the new moveable-print technology of Johannes Gutenberg. Ten copies in two versions of this "first book" still exist today.

Other August 15 events,

I think there are literally like a few hundred events as well as a tab for births and another for deaths!

Woodstock. That festival--whatever really happened there--has grown into one of the great pieces of Americana. It turned 40 on the 15th. It is one of the events that defines the 60's experience. Guess I'm late, but I think it's the best.
