To what genre does the novel belong?

Is romance its pure focus or is it more of suspense? Does the film focus on the same aspects as the novels?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

The novel actually belongs to the young adult literature classification. From there you can break it down to a romance book but it can also be considered fantasy. It does not really fall under suspense or thriller because of the fantastical elements. Whenever a story has non-real characters such as vampires, werewolves, or fairies, the book then falls into the fantasy genre by default. Many fantasy novels have an underlying romantic theme.

Yes, the films based on the Twilight books focus on the same aspects. The film goes through the discovery of the vampires and the romance of Bella and Edward. While the story is told a bit faster as a story often is in a film, it does hit all the major plot points in the book.
