To any filmmakers out there: What is the most affordable way of filming on a Red One Camera. Renting? Buying?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Well, I guess that depends on how long you plan on using the camera. If you are an avid film maker, you make a few films a year, then I would buy the camera. You can get a complete 4K package for around 25,000 on some websites. On the red website you can get the body only for 17,5000.

Renting a Red One can cost around 20,000 a month, even with the best web special i found, it was 10,000 for the month (and that was in canada, see my sources)

Red Ones are hot camera's right now. I think they are a great investment and it seems like its more affordable to buy.
