You can get a USB stick from Pinnacle to get a low budget DVR. They have a tuner built in and the software for DVR functionality, all for about 50 pounds. Depending on your needs, you can also get the digital version, analogue version, or the combination version.
I have the US equivalent I use for my laptop when traveling. Just make sure you check the system requirements before you purchase to make sure your system can handle processing the video.

Anyway, simply connect the coaxial cable to your capture card, fire up Media Center, download the latest TV listings, and voila, you're all set up! It's pretty card easy in the scheme of things, if you do indeed have that TV capture card.

Well, it depends on the operating system, and what software your laptop came with. If it has Windows Media Center, you're in luck! All you will need is a TV capture card, which you can pick up at any store, if your laptop has an open slot for one. If you already have one installed, even better. Anyway, simply connect the coaxial cable to your capture card, fire up Media Center, download the latest TV listings, and voila, you're all set up! It's pretty card easy in the scheme of things, if you do indeed have that TV capture card.
