Time old question, if someone harmed you or your family, would you go after them?

If someone hurt say, your young child and somehow got away with. Would you be willing to after them, make them pay?

Consequences? You need to be with your family, if something happens to you when you attempt your revenge, you're just hurting your family more.

Does making you into someone who would take revenge make the person who hurt you 'Win'?

How would you feel afterward? Vindicated, Just?

Good questions. Not many people know that this is why prisons were created. Before prisons, the lowest classes often had to resort to vendetta to get justice.
My answer is that it would depend on the extent of the hurt, and how my taking revenge would affect my family. My wife was the main breadwinner in our home so my taking revenge would not have hurt us economically, but it probably would have emotionally. I would certainly want to.

No. revenge won't solve anything but more revenge. why not letting the cops take care of them

I would prefer going to the Police Station and giving a complaint on those people, which is a wiser decision because if I go after them and if something happens to me, that would only make the family to suffer more.

No, not really, I think justice will prevail. If I went after them, then I would not be any better than the people that had harmed my family. I think that eventually what goes around comes around, and in some way, shape, or form, that person will not leave this world without paying for what he/she had done. They would have to live with it the rest of their life, and that alone would be enough punishment, I think.

IF no justice is forthcoming from established sources; court, police, society, etc...... YES, I will and do balance the scales.

My family depends on me for love, safety, strength, and respect. I will maintain a level of respect and strength if and when I am able. Revenge is not always dangerous, or even obvious, but it is necesary sometimes.
