It's hard to say without knowing how hot your grill/pan/broiler is, but it's roughly 2 minutes per side for rare, plus another 2-4 minutes in a warm oven to get it to medium-rare. (Filet mignon should not be cooked past medium-rare. Filet is low in fat, and therefore bland, so the whole point of it is that it should be tender.)
On a Foreman grill, it should take about 6 minutes for rare, 7 for medium-rare.
