There are two events and two resurrections. Christ's "second" coming (the first was His birth as a man) when the righteous are raised and gather with the living in Christ and go to Heaven and those that are left die. Satan is unleashed and roams the Earth alone for 1000 years.
Then He (and all of heaven Heaven in that sense) comes down to Earth, the sinners who were left behind (dead) are raised and Satan gathers them together to wage war against Heaven (Armageddon to coin a phrase). Sin is destroyed (and those who harbor it), the Earth is recreated anew. Sin is no more and will never rise again.
Happily ever after, etc., amen.

My answers are not retorts, they are sincere and gentle responses to what I believed to be a sincere question. I see that is not the case now, but in response to your request for scripture, those I can provide but I will not debate them. I only post them for others who wish to look into it themselves.
The truth of scripture is open to anyone who studies, I do not hide behind an organized religion. My understanding is based on scripture alone and I have no agenda in sharing my answers other than to point others to the truth that can be found in the Bible - not MY answers or MY interpretation of them or yours for that matter. Let people read and decide for themselves.
Further commentary aside, here is a (short) list of verses that can be easily understood and compared to the rest of the Bible - if understanding is one's goal that is.
Job 14:20, 21
Psalm 146:4
Ecclesiastes 9:6
A VERY short list (there's more), but for those seeking the truth - a good start.
Silverhammer:
I have to say that you have awesome retorts. But I onlyacknowledge to about half of them. To help me out what church do you belong to. To come up with such answers that I can't find reference to in the bible. If the question is to personal. Give me scripture to all your answers and I will give you the same on your return.
I did come back to you with about 4 pages of scripture on your remark on once you die your spirit stays with the body. I am thinking you are a J.W.
take care
