There has been some talk of re-opening Alcatraz for the detainees from Guantánamo. How much will this cost?
I did some really quick google searches but could not find anything regarding the actual cost of making Alcatraz into a viable prison facility in this day and age.

I suspect there isn't a lot of information available about the costs involved in converting Alcatraz into a functioning prison because it is not an option that is currently under serious consideration. Alcatraz was closed as a prison in 1963 but is currently open to the public as a tourist attraction and state park. Republican Rep. Bill Young is the one who suggested "The Rock" but House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said it is not a serious proposal, ""Perhaps he's (Young) not visited Alcatraz. Alcatraz is a tourist attraction. It's a prison that is now sort of like a -- it's a national park."(http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/01/25/pelosi-shrugs-alcatraz-possible-terror-detention-facility/)
A spokesman for Senator Diane Feinstien said, “These facilities would be suitable for detainees. Alcatraz is a national park and tourist attraction, not a functioning prison, and Senator Feinstein does not consider it a suitable place to house detainees.” (http://www.rollingstone.com/nationalaffairs/index.php/2009/01/23/close-gitmo-re-open-alcatraz/)
