The wild horse population is booming across ten states... and now cowboys are using helicopters to round them up instead of doing it the old

fashioned way. Animal rights advocates argue that it is cruel, and the cowboys say it is efficient. What do you think? Would the population take care of itself if we just left them out there? Is it more cruel to leave them where they may not be in a sustainable environment or more cruel to run them into the ground with the helicopters? Is there a more efficient way to do this that would be kinder to the horses? Much of the funding for the program is going to house the horses on private ranches... is that the best way to spend the money?

Of course it's cruel. But man has screwed with nature's balance so much that that is a problem. Before the white man the problem took care of itself but then they didn't kill all the coyotes and other natural predators. How did the horses survive all those years before people? The question is don't alot of these horses that end up on private ranches go to slaughter for animal food?

Putting horses on private ranches is an excellent solution.
