The Squarespace page is now managed by Squarespace! Is this as bad as it sounds?
See Squarespace.
I'm assuming it's someone from the company. not just a fan.
But whether it is or not in this case, surely it's a terrible idea to allow companies to manage Mahalo pages about themselves and their products?

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Who would better know the company, than the company themselves? Right now I don't entirely see a problem with a company using Mahalo to build a page about their company. I ran into this page - http://www.mahalo.com/robodynamics built by a man from the company and it looks equally as nice as the Squarespace page, otherwise they may have never been built or managed.
I think for now we just want to see people building pages, we are far from a Scientology-Wikipedia controversy.

I manage the page for Rob Brown.
:)
I think that I'm going to "mention" him when I revise the page but that I am personally much more interesting then both him and the hockey player who share my name - lol :)
You're most famous Rob Brown that I know of. :)
I totally understand your concern @philipy but at this point I think we are too small to be thinking this way. If somebody wants to make a "Squarespaces Criticism" page that is an option. If Coca-Cola or Scientology came along and claimed their own pages again the best way to counter would be with a Scientology Criticism page.
For now I think we are just happy they are honest with their affiliation, instead of using obscure nicknames. I hear your concern though @philipy and I am sure it's something we'll explore more over the weeks/months/years as the site grows
Who would be least likely to tell the objectve, honest truth about a company than themselves?
They're really going to showcase links that might be critical?
If you want destroy Mahalo's reputation for trustworthiness, that's a good way to do it I'd day.
And I'm not saying it's a bad company either.
But I'm not going to have a lot of faith in Mahalo if people could be using it for self-promotion.
