The Road Trailer

Thoughts? have you read the book The Road?
videos:
Tip for best answer: M$1.00
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Though I've never read the book, this trailer looks great. If it's anywhere close to being as good as "No Country For Old Men" it'll be an instant classic.

Look like it doesn't follow the book very closely, not that I expected it to: the book, while excellent, is not very cinematic.

I "read" it and blogged about it (http://yacitus.com/2008/09/road.html) last September. I very highly recommend the audiobook.

Here is an extensive movie review that referenses the book while rating and desribing the movie. I am including one statement made by this movie reviewer that speaks directly to your question; ..."There was not a single stupid choice made in turning this book into this movie. No wrongheaded lyric tribute to the novel. No moment engineered simply to make you jump." Now of course that is the opinion of the critic but it is the first official review so far. There is an official website listed in the credits at the end of the trailer but the site does not really exist. ( www.theroadmovie.com) The official release date is in October so we should all have time to read the book by the time we can see the movie.

F.Y.I. Also in the credits Mark Cuban is listed as an executive producer (probably has more to do with him putting up money than producing) so it would seem like he's going to have one more spectacular accomplishment to add to his resume!
