...the question is: iPhone vs. My Touch 3G. Who's it gonna be? Do they even really compare?
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I personally love my iPhone 3G and cannot imagine switching to the MyTouch... The iPhone does everything the MyTouch does and more...
Also, The iPhone lets you use Gmail just as well as the MyTouch and you can use an iPhone just as well with a PC as a Mac, it doesn't matter.

M$- Use iTunes to store and manage music
- Use a Mac as your primary computer
- Have good AT&T service in you area
- Don't mind the controversy concerning app store rejections

M$I absolutely agree with you, n4thani! You can't beat the iPhone for sexiness and the apps are great. But you are locked into Apple's proprietary landscape which may end up costing you more in the long run.
The My Touch 3G has a long ways to go in terms of its apps competing with the iPhone but it is a Google device and on T-Mobile which at least spells ease and affordability. Google really can't do anything wrong... so far.
