There was at least one motorized vehicle in Ireland as early as 1869. It was steam powered, as were other early motor vehicles. It did not have a manufacturer but was built by its inventor Lord Rosse. It was notorious in history because it was the cause of the first motor vehicle fatality when Mary Ward, a well known naturalist, fell off after a bump and was killed.
