The Egyptian revolution has been televised. What is your take on Obama's position?

After seemingly not taking a side, Obama finally came out yesterday in favor of Egypt moving forward in their revolution and publicly stated that America would assist in this so long as it is pursued in an orderly fashion. Whats your take on this?

President Obama has been consistently urging Egypt to transition to democracy. He started with his acclaimed speech in 2009 which devoted about a quarter of its length to the subject. During the current revolution he has urged the Egyptian army to avoid violence, the people to seek Democracy, and the regime to transition. He has been remarkably successful, as historians will undoubtedly conclude, despite the complaints from minute by minute analysts who wanted him to wave a magic wand.

I agree with Obama. I think if the Egyptian president doesn't leave soon he is asking for a blood bath. The kind of new government that would be installed after a violent revolution is less likely to address the needs of the people than a democratic one facilitated by negotiation

Very true. A friend of mine said it was about time Obama picked a side, but in my opinion; if he had pre-revolution, and the revolution never came: he would just have a pissed off country on his hands. I like the philosophy "God only helps those that help themselves." That can be applied to any venue of power. Even though that statement is not what the bible teaches, it has a lot of merit. Why would anyone in power help anyone not seeking change? Show me you want it and I will do the rest if it isn't in your power but is in mine. Seems like a wasted effort otherwise. And with that, on to my next question:
