I believe the last time Thanksgiving was on Nov 26 was 1998. The only event I readily find on that date is Tony Blair became the first British prime minister to speak to the Irish parliament.

Not the last time it was on a Thursday but in 1941 it was Thanksgiving on Nov 26 and that's the year FDR switched it back to the fourth Thursday of the month.

Nov 26 was also the date when Lincoln first declared a national Thanksgiving day.
