What is your opinion of Marge Simpson posing on Playboy's cover?

Once Hugh was on the show, it was only a matter of time. That blue hair alone is enough to tempt me. Some purists may be opposed. To them I say they are practicing a particularly insidious form of discrimination. What do you think?

I think it is awesome and can't wait to get my Playboy mag in the mail. I have all the issues for the past 3 years and think this is going to be one of the best.
Marge Simpson is a hot cartoon mom as well as Lois from The Family Guy, maybe she will be next.

I don't believe this is a first for Playboy either. I'm pretty sure that Jessica Rabbit appeared on the cover at one point in 1988. Okay it was girl dressed like Jessica Rabbit with some air brushing but it is not the first time a female cartoon character has been thought of for the cover of the mag. I'm kind of surprised they didn't dress up a woman to look like marge.

Disappointed... the tradition has been that women who pose on the cover will also appear on the centerfold.

Marge Simpson will NOT be on the centerfold!

Actually the cover model isn't always in the centerfold. If that was the tradition way back when, they broke that rule more than once already a long time ago.

I think it had exactly the effect is was designed to achieve, which was silliness.

I can already hear those saying that it's a tip-of-the-hat to the "inherit sexiness of the common woman"... and all that jazz.

I think it's fun! Brings a new aspect to things puts smiles on peoples faces and I'm sure it even had a little increase in sales. It's fun to incorporate cartoons. We enjoyed them as kids right? Why not enjoy it every now and then as adults :)

It's just a ploy to sell more magazines.I think that the people who generely don't buy Playboy ,may just buy it for a collector of the Simpsons or just a casual fan of the show.

I think this is hilarious! They are trying to draw in 20-something readers?!?!?! You'd think younger men would be attracted to the likes of Megan Fox posing on the cover rather than a 20-year-old cartoon mother!

This may just work as a way to attract more readers, which only makes it funnier!

Simpson's was not originally a kids shows, but a lot of kids watch it now.
So it is not really appropriate for her to be on the cover.

@stanar obviously it would be in their hands because it has Marge Simpson on it. Of course they're going to pick it up and not every shop sells these things responsibly. Trust me, I work in magazines..

I think it's great.

One of my brother's made a crude comment to which I responded, how disgusting, but was honestly kind of funny. He commented that we will finally learn if the blue drapes match the carpet. I guess I can't top that comment.

She is an icon.
Bigger, more well known and way more popular than some of her talentless 3D competition.
She is a big hit in Japan where hentai has been mainstream adult entertainment for decades.

Anything to make a buck. And it's working! Look at all the publicity Playboy has received and it doe's not hit the news stands until October 16th. I'm curious what the article will say... However, I don't think she will be pinned up on any walls.

ROTHL and this is not the first time Marge has been seen this way. Long time Simpson fans will remember that episode with Homer and Marge at the miniature golf course.

Simply a stunt. I don't see anything original about this. If they want the 20-something crowd they should start getting the web celebs in there.

I never thought of Marge that way, so it's a negative in my eyes. The level of appropriateness is questionable with the mixed adult/child audience for the show. I stopped watching a looooong time ago. 21 seasons is waaaay tooooo maaannnny.

Ounce for ounce Playboy isn't really worth it. So this is perfectly in line with that estimate.

I personally don't see the point. But then again, I live in Japan where there is plenty of "cartoon nudity" that I just don't get. To each their own I guess, but for the two primary types of Playboy subscribers (for the women and for the "articles") I don't see it. Though for the amount of "free press" the cover is generating, I imaging it was a smart choice.

The simpsons are aimed at a younger audience. I dont see the point of marge being on the cover of an adult mag.
