Batteries that are nickel-metal hydride (NiMH) are the best rechargeable batteries. They do not suffer from the "memory effect", which prevents a battery from being able to hold a true full-charge if it is recharged frequently and/or without being fully discharged. Please see the link in the sources list below for full descriptions (the first site also provides links on where to purchase the batteries and chargers).

You can also get the energizer ones but I find the Duracell rechargeables last longer per charge.

Answered Question

Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
What are the best rechargeable batteries on the market? And where can I buy them and a charger at a reasonable price?
Specifically, I'm looking for D cell batteries. However, if I can find a charger that can charge C, AA and AAA sized batteries, I would buy some of those too.
