Do I need to plug in 4 or 8 pin CPU plug for my Intel Quad2Core q9450?
I have been running just a 4 pin since I built my computer, but then I realized my PSU had 2x4pin cables and my mobo (Asus Maximus Extreme) has 8 pin slot (one half was covered with cap). Is there any advantage to running 8pins? I've always had 4 plugged in and have had no noticeable problems. What use requires 8 pins, dual CPUs or something?

Apparently 8 pins are used to get more performance from the CPU. There is a forum with overclockers talking about using 4 or 8 pins to enhance performance.
They claim it makes a difference. Also my friend sitting next to me says the same thing :)
Hope it helps.
