Can droboshare be used with other usb drives?

Can it be used as a "front-end" with other usb drives, and share it on the network? Or it just works with drobo?

The droboshare was created for Drobo's exclusively and unfortunately only recognizes them. I am sure someone will hack it soon...but currently the only thing it will work with is a Drobo.
