firefox.exe -p -no-remote
and create a new "test" profile.
Install the stumbleupon addon there. If this works, then your old profile settings are corrupted in some way and you need to eliminate all occurences of stumbleupon before making it work again.

Why won't my StumbleUpon toolbar show up in Firefox?
I have the lastest updates on both. I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling both, and the problem persists. After installing the toolbar and restarting firefox, nothing happens. The SU toolbar doesn't even show up when I go to view>toolbars, even though it is installed.
The weirdest part, to me at least, is that sometimes (very rarely), when I open Firefox, my stumbleupon toolbar is there! It works perfectly, and then disappears again the next time I open firefox.
I have windows vista, if it matters. Please help!

On top in the firefox window, click on View --> Toolbars, and make sure that the stumbleupon toolbar is checked. If it is and it's still not showing up, uncheck it and recheck it. Then try restarting firefox. If that doesn't work, uninstall the toolbar and then reinstall it. If that still doesn't work, go to View --> Toolbars --> Customize . Then physically move buttons around. Your toolbar is probably stuck somewhere, or you're encountering a rare bug. Moving things around might make it reappear. Happy stumbling!!

Do you have it disabled? I'd go to Tools --> Add-ons, scroll down to StumbleUpon, and make sure it's enabled. You'll know if there's a button that says "Disable". If it's enabled, click on Options, and in the Appearance tab, under More postion options, click on StumbleUpon Toolbar.
HOPEFULLY one of those things will work. I hope that helps!!

Yes, it's enabled but when I click on options, it tells me to create a stumbleupon profile (I already have). :/
I appreciate your help though.

God, that is so annoying!! I hope you find a solution! The only thing I can think of if none of what I just said worked is, actually go ahead and create yet another profile to an email address that forwards to your current one. Or maybe delete your old profile and start over, as much as that sucks to do .
I'll post again if I think of anything.

Hey demanda, i was having the EXACT same problem as you are where it wouldnt even give you the option to view SU toolbar. After much search, i found that by upgrading to Skype 4.0, it adds a skype extension for firefox. This should be visible in Downloads>Add-Ons. After I uninstalled this, my SU toolabr immediately appeared. Uninstalling the skype extension also got rid of other issues i was having with other add-ons. seems Skype is the culprit. Hope this works for you as well

Hey demanda, i was having this exact same problem. If you havn't been able to fix this yet, i hope this helps. I started having this problem after i updated to skype 4.0. It adds an extension for friefox, which you should be able to see in your list of add-ons. Delete/uninstall this skype extension, it should solve all your problems....good luck

If neither works, i found this in a website:
"My solution to the disapearing toolbar
A thought struck me, I had an idea that I could use the about:config thing in Firefox to manaully change the position of the toolbar. So I went in, used the about:config filter to find the StumbleUpon prefs, changed stumble.toolbar-position from stumbleupon to address, restarted Firefox, and there it was. I checked about:config and it looks like StumbleUpon set the location back to stumbleupon upon reboot fixing the whole problem."
