Dual boot. You can repartition your main hard disk, or, probably better, add a second hard disk to the PC on the cheap, and then set it up so you can select your OS. From the info I've seen, Windows 7 has a nice boot loader that will make dual booting easy.
Why dual boot? Because you may run in to issues. By all accounts, Windows 7 is looking quite nice, but you might run in to random compatibility issues with various programs you might run, so you'll be able to go back in to XP or Vista if you need to run something that won't work on 7.

Keep in mind you will have troubles like your sound card possibly not working. You might be able to find drivers and stuff for everything you need. But that is the major obstacle to using Windows 7.

Why shouldn't I run Windows 7 beta on my only PC. Or should I? I kinda want to try something different.
I use firefox, Playon, Windows Media Player running a media server. Also I use Juice to get my podcasts.

Create a second partition and then install windows 7 on that partition. Keep in mind you will have troubles like your sound card possibly not working. You might be able to find drivers and stuff for everything you need. But that is the major obstacle to using Windows 7.
