Try http://speedtest.net on it, and any other computers on the network. Compare the results. If the MacBook Pro's results are significantly lower, continue following these instructions…
Are other computers that are connected to the network faster? Are they wireless or wired? If they're all wired, then perhaps there's an issue with your wireless router's wireless antennas.
Next, try iStumbler to check the signal strength and noise strength. It's a great lil' utility.

Can you run the same test from a computer that is hard wired to your network. This will give us an idea as to whether the problem is with the wireless router or with the computer.

Why is my mac book pro so slow on the internet?
I have a new mac book pro and it is slow on my wireless network. I have updated all software. It seems to move faster on some sites than others.

Can you provide your bandwidth speeds from a site like speedtest.net and post them here? Can you run the same test from a computer that is hard wired to your network. This will give us an idea as to whether the problem is with the wireless router or with the computer.
