Nobody knows for sure, but the expectation is that it will come out in early June, during the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC).

"That's the first day of Apple's 2009 Worldwide Developers Conference, which is when we expect the company to unveil its new iPhone and show off the final version of its iPhone 3.0 software."

Of course, as the article says, they may announce the phone that day and not have them up for sale until weeks afterwords. But let's hope it's sooner!
