I like Logitech. They have good cheap models. I recently bought the wireless mouse and keyboard the only problem i have had is the batteries ran out after about 8 months (not a big deal). It was only 39 bucks and it has good wireless range. Cheap and worth it. Also, i have had no problems w/ it working with linux or windows. I have a feeling microsoft keyboards could possibly run into problems w/ linux, but im not 100% sure.
I love Logitech for mice, and I love the new ultra thin apple keyboard it is a great keyboard, and you can use it with windows and linux! The Apple key becomes the windows key for the remapping. I would recommend for a mouse a G5, G7, LX7 or LX8 mouse.

Logitech, by FAR. They tend to put out a great product that looks great and really lasts. It tends to be sleeker than the similar product I always see from Microsoft, and it has ALWAYS lasted longer for me. I love my WAVE keyboard and have one at both my desktop at home and connected to my docking station at work.
Also they tend to be slightly cheaper, and if you look on buy.com, usually you can get a recent Logitech for a great price. I JUST saw Logitech's Nano antennae mouse for 19.95 INCLUDING shipping!
LOGITECH+BUY = FTW!!! =)
