I didn't donate to it, but I gave all my money to St. Jude.
This one worked pretty well from what I hear, but they have the benefit of primetime tv and phenomenal ratings, and a mostly young viewing group that loves to text message(and that wasn't the only method of donation either).
I think the bottom line is that you if you want to make a text to give campaign successful it has to be very visible. If people are just seeing signs on the street, they will be a lot less likely to text. But if someone is right there, a spokesman for the (charitable)organization on commercials or video on the internet, it will have a lot more of a chance to succeed.

What text to give campaigns are the most successful? What makes YOU want to donate via text?
This is really a two part question...
1) what is most successful campaign in terms if marketing, overall donation outcome, etc...
and
2) did it make YOU donate? if not, which campaign did... and why?
Thank you ahead of time!

I think in terms of donating via any method I am more likely to donate if I know my donation is going to be matched. So with a text I would say the best campaign would be one in which the providers would match your donation up to a certain amount. Especially in hard times when people are unable to give as much it's nice to know your gift will be doubled.
