Yes, its very helpful, it's exactly the feature I was hoping would be added.

You see, I grew up learning French, my entire education was French, it wasn't until I reached high school where they sprinkled in the odd English class, so my grammar and spelling is horrible (in two languages), it's often I don't catch my mistakes until after I hit the submit button.

Actually, I just noticed I can only edit answers, not comments like this.

I like it. I've used it twice already. I often submit what I think is a pretty well thought out answer only to find that one of the sentences doesn't sound right. It's easier to spot these things in a different context from the original text box that I wrote my answer in, so it's nice to be able to edit after the fact. I even did it to this answer.

Plus, if I am browsing the web later and find another source to back my answer up, I can add it.

I love it. No matter how much you proof an answer, I was submitting responses that had typos and had no way to fix them. Now I can fix those, and add in more information.

It's a very handy feature to have around, that's for sure. I usually read what I type back to myself several times, but some things slip through the cracks and that's why the Edit Answers button is a very useful feature.

I applaud this new feature! (Just edited this reply) :)

Hurray for editing, I love it!

Edit: But is 60 minutes *too* long?

Great Feature! Now if only I could edit all of the emails that I send out each day, that would be fantastic.

Its a great add and will improve the quality of the answers, ensuring that each one is as complete and thorough as the person answering the question can make it.

I think it's a nice feature to have, and not just for the grammar/spelling/clarity reasons. Sometimes I've written an answer, then come up with a (not to be immodest) brilliant point moments after I've submitted it. I don't do this all the time, but enough to make it a nice feature.

I think it is an excellent idea; however, I think you should shorten it to 30 minutes or less (i.e. 10 minutes). If you make a mistake, you should be able to come back within that period time and fix it.

Here is a pretty good thread on editing your posts: http://www.blogcatalog.com/discuss/entry/do-still-edit-your-post-several-days-after-having-published-it-what-are-your-bloggingposting-habits
Personally I think you should be able to edit your comments too.
