Googles Traffic Estimator estimates the CPC for "school loan consolidation" as $19.18 - $28.77. So, this data looks faulty to me.

I found this blog that has listed a list of the most expensive keywords though I can vouch on its veracity ,The list seems authentic enough. You can check it out at cyber wyre dot com below, are the top 15 according to this list and what they pay the total list has over 300 top paying current (as of 2008 )Adsense Keywords .

The most authoritative way to answer this is to use Google's Traffic Estimator. They will give you the current CPC range and number of daily clicks for keyword combinations you enter.

claims to have a database of 400,000 keywords, sorted by bid price (they are charging $200 for their list). But they do say that they only have 128 keywords that are in the $20+ category. I also note that the Traffic Estimator does not allow entry of a daily budget more than $100.

From the (outdated) lists given in the other answers here, the largest estimate I could find were all under $30.

I think it's obvious that the highest keywords will be in the most competitive and high margin businesses:

jet charter
legal (accident, criminal, civil)
medical (surgeons, cancer)
financial (mortgages, loans, credit consolidation)
