There are a couple interesting features included in HTML5.
1) New elements: header, nav, article, section, aside, footer are all new tags available in HTML5. These are more semantic than a regular old div as well as easier to read in code (/div vs /article).
2) The video and audio tag. The aim is to make embedding video or audio as easy as adding an image to an HTML document. This is running into some licensing and patent issues though as their is no open standard available for browser makers to include. As you can see HTML5 has a lot to offer. Now we just need the masses to adopt the latest greatest browsers that support these cool features.
