As they say in the actual business, the longer you've been on, the longer you've been on. As you develop history with your listeners, you'll get more of them and gain their trust, word of mouth will spread that way.
But whuffie is a very small subject - I'm worried you might not get all that large an audience due to the rarity of knowledge of it.

Suggestions to promote the Whuffiecast podcast?
I've started a podcast all about Whuffie, called the Whuffiecast. I've released three episodes so far and as best as I can figure I have about 5 listeners, including one subscriber through iTunes.
I think this is a great podcast, but I'm kind of stuck on how to get the word out. This is quite a niche type podcast so I'm not sure how to promote it. I do post Tweets about it with links but I don't know what else to do.
Any suggestions?
The web site for the podcast is at: www.whuffiecast.com and it's on iTunes too (the only result if you search for Whuffie)

You may also want to be the first to create a Whuffie topic page for Mahalo. Obscure topic pages tend to get good search engine rankings.

I would suggest going to other websites and web communities and participating in discussions/message boards. By doing this other people will see your interest in the topic. If there is good quality to what you're saying they will become interested in what you're saying and you can start to promote the podcast.

Add a link in Wikipedia's definition of Whuffie, also just keep posting (myspace, facebook, here, twitter, etc) and your followership will go up. As they say in the actual business, the longer you've been on, the longer you've been on. As you develop history with your listeners, you'll get more of them and gain their trust, word of mouth will spread that way.
